He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Carney and Bertie Smith Carney; his daughter Penny Morgan; his wife Maxine Carney; his children, Dana Dempsey (Shawn) of Huntsville, Arkansas and Dean Carney of Winslow, Arkansas; and his siblings, Gene Carney of Clearwater, Dwight Carney of Fayetteville, Christine Young of Springdale and Debbie West of Beaver Creek, Ohio. He was also cherished by several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
