He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Barton and Clara Evans Barton; his wife Virginia Barton; his children, Martha Stevens and Jerry Wayne Ray; and his grandson Zachary Barton.
He is survived by: his children, Virginia Harvey of Huntsville, Renee Keeney (Kevin) of Fayetteville, Angie Hollifield of Huntsville, Laura Ross of Siloam Springs, Raymond Barton (Kathy) of Bella Vista and James Barton (Arlene) of Nob Hill, Arkansas; and his sisters, Ruth Parsons of North Carolina and Mary Lou Thurman of Springdale. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Moore's Chapel Funeral Home (206 W Center St, Fayetteville, AR 72701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Fairview Memorial Gardens (1728 E Mission Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703).
