Edith Allen Griffin Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 20, 2021, at the age of 88, Edith Allen Griffin (Fayetteville, Arkansas), born in McAdoo, Texas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edith Allen Griffin to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband John William Griffin; her children, James Alton Griffin and Carolyn Griffin Hughes; and her siblings, Betty Jo Greene, Anita Ray Callahan, Charles Wayne Allen and Jimmy Farest Allen.
She is survived by: her daughter Patsy Miller (Bob) of Norman, Okla.; her children-in-law, Caroline Griffin of Jackson, Miss. and Charlie Hughes of Fayetteville; her sisters, Lanell Allen of Fort Worth and Sandra Karen Vest of Ashburn; her grandchildren, Cathy Miller, Kelly Miller of Norman, Rebekah Payne (Jeff) of Memphis, Tenn., John William Griffin (Anna Claire) of Monroe and Stephen James Griffin of Jackson; her great grandchildren, Caroline, Annie Michel, Elizabeth Payne of Memphis and James DeBron of Norman; and her daughter Janie Hughes Montgomery of Fayetteville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The final two to three years of Edith's life were not easy; she witnessed the death of two of her children, her failing health prompted a move to assisted living, and like many who live in group homes, she suffered through periods of isolation as a result of quarantines brought on by COVID.
