Gary was predeceased by his parents, Lester Patterson and Ava Satterfield Johnson, half-sister Thelma Caviness, sister Dorothy Holmes, brother Johnny Patterson, and grandson Nicholas, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Dusti Patterson of Dumas and Melissa Clemons (Nick) of Dumas; his siblings, Herman Patterson of Star City, Dean Russo of Jacksonville and Joann Lovelady of Jacksonville, and his grandchildren, Haley, Jayce, Ethan, and Ava.
