He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Uptigrove and O. C. "Bud" Carpenter; his wife Clara Faye Locke; his former wife Betty Jane Marks; and his brother Robbie Leonard Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Vera Jelyn Hogue (Farris), Carolyn Mann Brooks (Bill) of Brenham, TX, Barbara Mann Kinny (Joe) of Bastrop, LA, Sarah Partee (Chris) of Cabot, AR and Keith Eugene Mann (Leiah) of Crossett, AR; and his sister-in-law Patsy Coulter Carpenter. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandson along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
