He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Jerrell and Nina Mildred Blann Avant; and his sisters, Doris Jean Courville and Patricia Gail Kyle. He is survived by: his wife Janice Avant; his sons, Timothy Ray Avant (Tabitha) and Jeffery J. Avant (Zephonia); his siblings, Jimmy Ray Avant (Lorraine), Dickie Lee Avant (Marsha) and Jo Ann Franklin; and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Aaryn, Alex, Brooke and Emma.
The family has asked that memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Post 47, PO Box 10005, EL Dorado, AR 71730.
