She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson Riley and Lovie C. Riley; her son Edward Simmons Jr.; her brothers, James Riley and Paul Riley; and her grandchildren, Adam Bardin and Krystin Bardin.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Short; her daughters, Sharon McCulloch (Brett) of Biloxi, MS, Suzy Simmons of Union City, TN, Lovie Lee (Kenny) of Fulton, KY and Tracy Callahan (Perry) of Lexington, TN.; her stepson Don Kottman (Tina) of St. Charles, MO; and her siblings, Clyde Riley of Hickman, KY, N. D. Riley of Troy, TN and Fransis Wroten of Union City, TN.. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
