He was predeceased by: his parents, Earsel Morris and Geraldine Bates; his stepmother Haley Morris of Arizona; his wife Delores Morris; his children, Horace Burton and Jacqueline Branch; and his siblings, Robert Morris, Leonard Williams and Grederick Coney.

He is survived by: his children, Johnny Morris Jr. of Marion, AR, Carla Johnson of Jonesboro, AR, Laverne Adekunle of Brentwood, TN and Yolanda Neal of Gosnell, AR; and his siblings, Earsel Morris Jr. of Louisville, KY, Howard Morris of Sacramento, CA, Lenora Bland of Indianapolis, IN, Sharon Crumpton of Indianapolis, IN, Vernis Corley of Orangeburg, S. C. and Barbara Marshall of Little Rock, AR. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
