Lisa Lynn Pittman Obituary
Lisa Lynn Pittman, age 55, of Black Oak, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was a long-time resident of Black Oak, Arkansas, and a 1986 graduate of Buffalo Island Central School. She was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Lisa loved getting together with her family and friends, playing cards, telling stories, and talking. She kept us all entertained. More than that, though, Lisa was a friend to all. She had a place in her heart for children, for the sick, for the hurt, the outcast, the stragglers, and the wayward. She never gave up on anyone. She may have given them an earful of opinions expressed with artfully colorful language, but she loved us all even when we kept right on doing whatever she did not want us to do. Most of all, she loved her children, Taylor and Lindsey, and gave them everything she could.
Lisa died peacefully after a battle with cancer that ravaged her body, but not her spirit. She maintained her outrageously funny and biting sense of humor until the end and fought to continue to be there for her children until it was no longer possible. We know she will be present with us as we celebrate her life because there is no way that she would miss the party.
Lisa was a caregiver to several elderly people. The last few years, she took care of her mother, Betty Rains, for which we are eternally grateful.
Lisa is survived by her son, Taylor Pittman, of Black Oak, Arkansas, her daughter, Lindsey (Andrew) Stagner, of St. Joseph, Missouri, her mother, Betty Rains, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, her father, Larry Henry and step-mother, Gail Hood, of Paragould, Arkansas, her sister, Nikki Turney, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, her sister, Ann Marie (Bryan) Drummond of Jonesboro, Arkansas, niece and nephew Hope Turney and Luke Turney of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and nieces Sophia Drummond and Natalie Drummond of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends.
Honored to serve as pall bearers are Royce Hawkins, Jay Hawkins, Tony Hawkins, Ken Ball, Russ Ball, Mark Hickman, Matt Hickman, and Jimmy Nance. Honorary pall bearers are Luke Turney and Karson Nance.
