He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, J. Russell Crabtree and Floretta Clark Crabtree; his wife Peggy Reed Crabtree; and his children, Pamela Thomas (Ron), Penni Crabtree (Richard), Valerie Robinson (John) and R. Brent Crabtree. He was also cherished by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
