He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Balster and Darlene Balster (Wagner); his parents-in-law, Raymond and Viola Schmidt; his siblings, Steven Balster and Sharon Krogstad; his niece Jessica Balster; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Schmidt, Barbara Johnson and Jeanette Dillinger.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Balster; his children, Justin Balster of Cedar Falls, IA and Chris Balster (Audrey) of Omaha, NE; his siblings, Cathy Balster, Linda Sorenson (Keith), Laurie Wieneke (Steven), Mark Balster (Julie) and Michael Balster (Mindy); and his siblings-in-law, Candace Balster and John Krogstad. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
