He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil James Abraham Phillips and Myrtle Marie Phillips (Dowell); his sister Alma Mae Moore; his daughter Kathy Phillips; and his grandson Cody Phillips.
He is survived by: his significant other Peggy Sue Phillips; his children, Donald "Bud" Phillips of Batesville and Angela Parker (Gary) of Richmond, Texas; and his grandchildren, Brandy Renfrow, Misty Campbell, Jason Kourakis, Aaron Brightwell and Summer Jennings. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
