He is survived by: his caregiver Mae Woodall; his brother Jason Whitmire; his wife June Jackson Simmons; his children, Karam Burl Simmons of Augusta, AR and Farah June Simmons of Florida; his grandchildren, Levi Simmons of Tennessee, Devin Simmons (Brooke) of Ward, AR, Justin Simmons (Gabrielle) of McCrory, AR and Morgan Simmons of McCrory, AR; his great grandchildren, Piper Simmons, Ashlyn Simmons Dewitt, Ellie Simmons, Noah Simmons and Adeline Simmons; his brother J. L. Simmons (Sue); his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Jackson, Max Jackson (Shirley), Sue Ross (Denis) and Beverly Fields (Sonny); and also, Jen and Dara. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
