He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Jerome Beard; and his siblings, John Berry Beard, Allen Ramsey Beard, Samuel Jerome Beard Jr., Mary Leone Beard Daniel and Laura Gene Beard Munson.
He is survived by: his close friend Freda Louise Chrestman; his sons, James G. Beard Jr. and Jeffrey L. Beard; and his grandchildren, Jordan Beard, Jewell Beard, Justin Beard and Samantha Singleton. He is also survived by friends and extended family.
