He was predeceased by: his son Jimmy Stewart; and his siblings, Carolyn Stewart, Freddie Stewart, Eddie Charles Stewart and Johnny Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Stewart; his children, Melissa Stewart and Clarence Stewart (Shamieka); his goddaughters, Taylor Johnson and Chloe Lucas; and his siblings, James Stewart (Jeanette), Wesley Stewart (Ellen), Margaret Parson, Marjovie White, Alma Jean Wilson, Mary Lee Jones and Linda Carson. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
