Cordelia Summerville Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cordelia Summerville of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, who passed away on October 1, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Japhus Ross and Jessie Ann Tucker Ross; her siblings, Aurelia Ross-Griffin, Charlie Ross, Pauline Ross and Efferin Ross; and her children, Michael Summerville, Linda "Pokey" Hale and Queen Ester Givens.
She is survived by: her spouse Eddie Lee Summerville; her great grandchild Wyatt; her children, Pauline Ross Lemons (Meredith), Kenneth Ross of Hot Springs, Malasena Summerville of Arkadelphia, Eddie Summerville (Teresa) of Arkadelphia and Michelle Summerville of Arkadelphia; and her siblings, Cornelia Ross of Arkadelphia and Herbert Ross (Elizabeth) of Arkadelphia. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
During the 2021 pandemic, her 90th birthday was celebrated with a vehicular parade of family and friends, paying a tribute to Cordelia as a special Arkadelphia resident of almost a century!
Despite the historically tough time the nation faced, particularly for the South, her parents instilled in her a solid foundation and a strong faith in God.
