She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Nathaniel Ellis and Betty Joyce Parrett Ellis; her husband Kirk Petty of Altus; her children, Lindsey Jo McCay of Jemison, Alabama and B. J. McCay (Alaina) of Atlanta, Georgia; her brother Terry McCay of Alibaster, Alabama; and her grandchildren, Dani McCay, Lexi McCay and Nate Overton.
As a nurse she worked hard and showed true compassion, which led her to work at Briarcliff Nursing Home in the Alzheimer's unit.
