He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Frank Hartley and Flossie Gosdin Hartley Yates; his brother Dennis Russell Yates; his niece April Dawn Nobbley; and his siblings-in-law, Rex and Clois Lashley.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Lashley Hartley of Woodland; his brother Dan C. Yates, Jr. of Atlanta; and his sister-in-law Connie Lashley Nobbley of Woodland.
Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations be made to the Russell Bass Sunday School class at Bear Creek MC or to Liberty Grove CMC cemetery fund.
