It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louis B. Hanks Sr. of Winfield, Alabama, born in Jefferson, Alabama, who passed away on November 23, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Hanks and Grace Hanks; his siblings, Flora Sargent and Virgil Hanks; and his children, Gail Patterson and Gary Hanks.

He is survived by: his close friends, Margaret and Louis; his wife Margaret Hanks; his sons, Thomas Hanks and Louis Hanks; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hanks; and his grandchildren, Stacey Sullivan, Jack Sullivan (Michelle), Amy Watford (Brad), TJ Hanks, Mandy Peterson (Matt), Jonathan Hanks (Jamie) and Andrew Hanks (Courtney).

Due to Covid the family ask that mask be worn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church building fund.
