He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hollis Atkinson and Abbie Gail Lee Atkinson; and his siblings, Sue Hubbert, Eloise Harkness, Willow Nette Atkinson, Proctor Atkinson, Lambert Atkinson, Lee Atkinson and Carl Atkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Jimmie Sue Perry Atkinson; his children, Donna Waldrop, Larry Atkinson (Kim) and Barry Atkinson (Nancy); his grandchildren, Deric Thomas (Heather), Abbie Thomas (Hans), Jordan Atkinson (Abi), Will Atkinson, Kate Atkinson, Callie Atkinson and Isaac Atkinson; his great grandchildren, J. D., Simon, Anna, Gracie, Ethan, Bridges, Holden, Hugo, Hadassah, Rahab, Micaiah, Hosea and Job; and his sisters, Edna Kilgore and Virginia Nixon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
