He was predeceased by: his parents, Early Wayne Channell and Shelby Jean McIntosh Bates; his stepfather Douglas Jackson "Jack" Bates; his daughter Katie Dawn Channell; and his brothers, Joe, Alan and Bart Ray Channell.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Sprinkle Channell; his children, Bryan Bates, Douglas Channell (Jennifer) and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Parr (Lee); his stepdaughters, Melissa Tucker (Landy), Amanda "Sissy" Robertson (Jonathan) and Crystal Lawler (Matthew); his siblings, David Channell (Shirley), Pam Gardner (Michael) and Beverly Markle; and his stepsiblings, Rick, Roger Bates and Donna Bates Burgess. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family will be excepting donations to help with Bruce's final expenses.
