He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Burnett and Mary Briley Burnett; his wife Evelyn McCary Burnett; his son Billy Joe Hill (Buddy); his siblings, Leonard Burnett, Estelle Long and Aileen Lowery; and also Rebecca Hill (Becky).
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Burnett Jr. (Jane) and Shelia Steadman (Scott); his grandson Kaleb Steadman; and his pet Cocoa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
