She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh J. Posey; her parents, Cole Young, Sr. and Norene Jeffreys Young; and her siblings, Dr. Cole Young, Jr. and Minnie Jean Briscoe.
She is survived by: her sons, Steve Posey (Karen) and Kenny Posey (Quitney); her grandchildren, Matthew (Haley), Jordan (Whitney), Caitlin Brown (Michael), Luke Byrd, Cassie Posey, Peyton Higdon (Brent), Cody Posey and Hugaboom of Montana; her friends, Jane Knouff, Ann Todd and Shelby Ellis; her cousins, Ramona Muston, Bobbie Sue Neal and Marjorie Lovell; and her caregivers, Sarah Hurst, Kay Hallmark, Gayla Lewis, Liz Stewart, Diane Lawrence, Savannah Lindenmayer, Dorothy and Heidi. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Town Creek where she became a faithful lifelong member after being saved in a revival at the age of 15.
