She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Gibson and Virginia Gibson; her husband Bob Wood; and her brother Nelson Gibson. She is survived by: her children, Sara Beth Merriman of Sylacauga, John Merriman of Alabama and William Merriman of Indiana; and her sister Beth Gibson Byerly of Hartsville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
