He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Steele and Dewey Steele; his former wife Kathy Batey Steele; his siblings, Freida Lowery, Catherine Steele, Shirley Thomas (W. C.), George, Donald, Ronald and Gary Wayne Steele; and his nephews, Nick Thomas and Paul C. Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Steele; his sons, Brian Steele (Cindy) and Brett Steele (Holly Gray); his siblings, Mary Evelyn (Bill McKee), Paul Steele (Judy), Pete Steele (Joyce) and Dianne Rogers (Tony); his grandchildren, Jessica Blevins (Aaron), Chrissy Adkins, Tyler, Talon, Braxton, Dewey Steele, Jackson and Tabitha Manor; his great grandchildren, Gracie, Paisley, Dawson, Colt, Elijah Blevins, Avianna and Kagen Adkins; and his stepsons, Chris Hinkle (Donna), Michael Hinkle (Talona) and Joey Hinkle (Stephanie).
