He was predeceased by: his parents, William Obie and Minnie Lee Hood Chancey; his sons, Johnny Chancey and Christopher Vann; his grandson William Griffin; and his siblings, Paul Hood, Sherman Chancey, Jonathan Chancey, Winnie Ruth Brownell and Elizabeth Harcus.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Gail Holley Chancey of Samson, AL; his children, Bud Vann (Lynn) of Opp, AL, Nicki Vann Griffin (Kenny) of New Brockton, AL and Faith Vann Bradshaw (John) of New Brockton, AL; his grandchildren, Corbin, Caleb, Lauren, Autumn Griffin, Josie, Cassie Gail Vann, Gracie, Blakely McDuffie, Bree and Noah Bradshaw; and his siblings, Linda Forehand of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Juanita Wood of Elba, AL, Mary Lyle (Randy) of Huntsville, AL, Bud Chancey of Dothan, AL and Earl Chancey (Marie) of DeFuniak Springs, FL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
