It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Waylon Cottles of Rogersville, Alabama, who passed away on August 24, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Cottles and Ruby Cottles; his brother Gayther Cottles (Faye Cottles); his sister-in-law Charlotte Cottles; his sister Doris Jean Cottles; and his brothers-in-law, William Lee McKelvey and Randal Pettus.

He is survived by: his wife Trudy Cottles; his children, Phillip Cottles and Monica Hammond (Stephen); his siblings, Mary Sobek (Irvin), Lena Hill (Howard), Jerry Cottles (Kathy) and Roy Cottles (Patricia); and his siblings-in-law, Stella Pettus, Robert Gamble (Sarah), William Young McKelvey, Jr. (Pam), Jimmy Whitman (Betty) and Marcus Roden (Eva). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family asks during this time that social distancing be respected and looks forward to hugs later.
