He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Griffin (Margaret) and Viola Thomas (Kelley); his parents-in-law, Vernon and Bettye Lovell; his siblings-in-law, Mickey V. Lovell and Wanda T. Lovell; and his close friends, Elvin Garrison and Ronald Garrison.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Faye Lovell Griffin; his sons, Jody Griffin (Tonie) of Athens and Jerry Griffin of Lexington; his grandchildren, Lucas, Jamie, Layla, Andrew and Rachel Griffin; his sister Renee Fergurson (Roger) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his brothers-in-law, Ronald of Rogersville and Roger Lovell of Rogersville; the mother of his children Loretta Lee; and also, Mildred Garrison, Keith Garrison (Rose), Tasha Clanton (Kevin) and Vanessa Czolada (Brian). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
