He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Messer; his son Jimmy Messer; his grandchildren, Marty Messer, Gary Wayne Messer and Sherry Lynn Messer; his parents, Eddie Messer and Ruth Pence Messer; and his siblings, W. T. Messer, Oral Messer, Ophelia Boozer and Lucille Buchannan.
He is survived by: his children, Lowell Messer, Jr. (Janice) of Ohatchee, Gail Minton (Eddie) of Piedmont and Sheryl Minton of Piedmont. He is also survived by six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; five sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
