With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marileta Powell Stone in Opelika, Alabama, born in Selma, Alabama, who passed away on December 18, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Elias and Leta Rikard Powell of Ackerville, Alabama.; her husband William Edward Stone, Jr. of Pine Apple, Alabama.; and her son-in-law Alex Whatley. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Libby Burch (Mike), Edward Whatley (Elizabeth), Mary Kathryn Whatley, Walter Whatley, Stover Perryman (Melody) and Calvin Perryman (Samara). She is also survived by her girls, cooking for her family, and playing bridge with her friends.
