He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Copeland and Bertie Phillips Copeland; his grandson Robert Earl Copeland; his great grandchild Konner Goldsmith Hewitt; and his brothers, Jack Copeland of Gene, JB and Buggs Copeland.
He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Simmons (Edwin) and Randy Copeland (Tonya); his grandchildren, Michael Simmons (Rachel) and Shannon Hewitt (Jeffery); his great grandchildren, Harper, Millie, Scout Simmons, Gunter Hewitt and Crymson Martinez; and his sister Gertrude Payne (Robert). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
