She was predeceased by: her parents, Emris Lee Starkey, Sr. and Lola Mae Bynum Starkey; her son Benjamin H. Morton; and her siblings, E. L. Starkey Jr. and Marjorie Stewart.

She is survived by: her husband Raymon Morton; her children, Brian Morton (Elizabeth), Melanie McQueen and Lauren Cain (Steed); her sister Mary Wallace; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Amanda, Danielle, Kendra, Nathan, Patrick, Hillary, Paul, Ada and Nina.
