It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Waddell of Mount Olive, Alabama, who passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollice B. Tanner and Effie Eugene Roberts Tanner. She is survived by: her children, Richard Waddell (Rose), Kay Gillian (Rick), Rhonda Ritchey and Gregory Waddell (Lynn); and her grandchildren, Jennifer Griffis (Jonathan), Allan Waddell, Katherine Vann (Jonathan), William Gillian, Amanda Ellis (Jacob), Mark Waddell, John Salter (Lindsey) and James Ritchey (Missy). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Mary to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, as this group was very near and dear to her heart.
