He is survived by: his children, James Astin (Ed) and Lynna Hopkins; his child-in-law Shawn; his grandchildren, David Cargile (Reyna), Crystal Cargile, Emma Cargile (Matt Jordan) and David Hopkins (Gabby); and his great grandchildren, Jordan Cargile, Jayla Cargile, Jaxon Cargile, Aleah Walthall, Nikolas Cargile and Olivia Hopkins. He is also survived by his family and friends.
