He is survived by: his children, Shelia Battle of Birmingham, AL, Gail Battle of Childersburg, AL, Teresa Battle of Childersburg, AL, Renee Brown (Willie) of Childersburg, AL and Bridgette Crayton (Michael) of Sylacauga, AL; his siblings, Bettye Calhoun (Lawrence) of Alpine, AL, Herbert Battle, Early Battle (Dorothy) and Pearly Battle (Louise) of Childersburg, AL; his nephew Quail Kirkland; and his significant other Brittany Shephard. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
