He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodolphus "Doc" and Sallie Gurley Higginbotham; and his siblings, Olen Higginbotham, Ollie Higginbotham (Ruth), Drew Higginbotham (Ruth), Lucy Mae Dean (Clyde), Glacie Crow (Charlie), Era Blankenship (Lawrence) and Helen Ervin (Grover).
He is survived by: his wife Viola Fields Higginbotham; his children, Burnie Arnold Higginbotham, Jr. (Carolyn) and Tammy Patterson (Philip); and his grandchildren, Burnie Arnold Higginbotham, III, Bonnie George (Gary) and Anetra Montgomery.
