He was predeceased by: his parents, Houston Richards and Bertha Richards (McDaniel); and his son Tim "Hot Rod" Richards. He is survived by: his daughters, Joy Murphy (Melvin), Jan McCullough (Wade) and Jeanie Kemp (Mike); his brother Jimmy Richards (Caryl); and his grandchildren, Lindsey Pierce, Taylor Murphy, Judd Murphy, Josh Kemp of Jessie Long, J. J, Baswell, Jamie Baswell and Lacie McCluskey.
