He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Folsom Lyles; his parents, James Grady Lyles and Annie Gardner Lyles; his sisters, Doris Lowe (Dot) and Edith Daniels; his brothers-in-law, Emmett Lowe and Alton Lowe; and his cousins, John R. Jacobs, James E. Jacobs, Donald W. Gardner and William M. Gardner.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna Reece (Henry); his stepdaughters, Tammy Keene (Mike) and Tonja Jones (Ken); his son David G. Lyles (Lori); his sisters, Jackie Lowe and Betty Heritage (Edward); his brother-in-law Billy Daniel; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Reece and Alexa Lyles; and his close friend William U. "Bill" Duncan.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church (McShan, AL), Hebron Baptist Church (Carrollton, AL), any US Veteran Support Organization, the Masonic Lodge or Pickens Academy in Carrollton, AL.
