She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas E. Stephens Sr.; her children, Stanley Stephens and Susan Stephens; her granddaughter Lori Anne Stephens; and her siblings, Mary Pope and Alvin Bigger.
She is survived by: her son Thomas E. Stephens, Jr. (Margaret) of Nashville, TN; and her grandchildren, Corey Stephens (Misty), Megan Stephens Lagasse (Randall) and Christi Stephens Key (Chad). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Janie's name to Agape of North Alabama, Inc. or Madison Church of Christ (World Missions).
