He was predeceased by: his significant other Margaret W. "Peggy" Smyth; his son Justice D. Smyth, III; his father Dewey H. Smyth; and his sister Helen S. Vaughan. He is survived by: his sons, Mark T. Smyth of Luverne, David H. Smyth (Becky) of Luverne and Richard R. Smyth (Kathy) of Luverne; his grandchildren, Justice Smyth (Morgan) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jeff Smyth (Robin) of Carrollton, GA, Ryan Gibson (Deanna) of Gallatin, TN, Suzanne Green (Mitch) of Troy, AL, Courtney Davis (Hue) of Troy, AL and Rann Smyth of Troy, AL; and his great grandchildren, FrancieSmyth, Olivia Gibson, Maddox Gibson and Caroline Green.
