He was predeceased by: his parent Bessie Samuels; and his brother Gene Rutland. He is survived by: his sister Joyce Estes (Earl); and his sister-in-law Faye Rutland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
