He was predeceased by: his father Ralph Smoot. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Smoot; his children, Robert Smoot (Monica) and Julie Mitchum (Benji); his grandchildren, Sara Smoot, Hannah Beasley and Carter Smoot; and his brothers, Byron Smoot (Dianne) and Randy Smoot (Manda).
