He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Mitchell and Dessie Rodgers Mitchell; his wife Gaynor Colley Mitchell; and his siblings, Hazel Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, William Mitchell, Nellie Byrd and Becky Ward.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shelia Fuller (Todd) of Lanett and Cynthia Gunn of Lanett; his grandchildren, Alicia Gunn, Ashley Bond (T. J.), Kimberly Carter (Chad), Suzanne Carter (Jaren), Amanda Slay (Tyler), Stephanie Fuller and Danielle Fuller; his great grandchildren, Adalyn Carter, Catherine Carter, Benjamin Todd Slay and Levi Slay; his siblings, Dovie Roberts, Zack Mitchell (Amy) and Sarah Hughes; and his brother-in-law Freddie Ward. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
