He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marion Butler Sr. and Christa Cowart Butler; and his sister Virginia Louise Butler (Jennie). He is survived by: his wife Grace Ann Branum Butler; his children, John Mark Butler (Holly) and Christa Butler McNabb (James); his grandchildren, Brandon Butler (Melissa), Mallory Butler Moore (Luke), Kevin Butler (Lauren), Griffin Butler (Neeley), Erin McNabb Moseley (Jake), Reid McNabb (Jamie), Megan McNabb (Slade Hicks) and Seth McNabb; his great grandchildren, Ruthie Moore, Tate Butler, Wesley Butler and Ellis Moore; his sister Ann Butler Lott (Charles); and his brother-in-law Charlie Boggan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Whitesburg Baptist Church South Campus (7300 Whitesburg Dr, Huntsville, AL 35803). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
