She is survived by: her children, James Vernon Nelms, Jr. (Tina), Hershel Nelms, Timmy Nelms (Lisa Reeves), Chris Nelms, Calvin Nelms, Eric Nelms (Kristin Tucker), Shelia Johnson Rice, Sherry Trussell (Stevie), Anita Terry, Misty Garrison (Adam) and Kimberly Heaps (Blake); her siblings, Wendell Sapp (Virginia), Denford Sapp, James Sapp (Janice) and Linda Decatur Sapp; her stepbrother Glenn Johnson (Shirley); and her grandchildren, Michael Nelms (Tosha), Jonathan Nelms (Maliaya), Heather Lamon (Todd), Jessica Nelms, Jamie Johnson, Benjamin Johnson (Millie), Whitney Johnson Kelly (Wesley), Stephanie Proctor (Josh), Summer Trussell, Calista Jones, Evan Tucker, Jeffery Garrison (Maggie), Jordan Garrison, Braxton Garrison, Nora Huckaba, Noah Huckaba and Olivia Huckaba.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parkway Funeral Home (23599 AL-24, Trinity, AL 35673). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
