He is survived by: his sister Dorcas Johnson; his brother-in-law Morrell Johnson; his nephew Roger Johnson; his brother-in-law Douglas Adkins; his wife Gail Adkins Carter; his siblings-in-law, Ken Adkins, David Adkins (Reba) and Diane Adkins; his nephews, Shane Adkins (Lisa) and Dan Adkins; his great-nephew Jim Adkins; and his niece Phyllis Johnson Tilly.
