He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Fay and Evalyne Mae Smith; his siblings, Hubert "Bill" Smith Jr. (Mary) and Rosalie Smith Still (Charles Ray); his children, Evelyn Fay Smith and Harold Jerome Smith; his stepson James David Beson; and his grandson Jonathan Jerome Smith.
He is survived by: his grandson Kevin James Beson (Zack); and his children, Kathryn Smith Baker, Carol Smith Walter (Jeff) and Daniel Smith. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Caring for Life Hospice Family Care, 10000 Serenity Ln., Huntsville, Alabama.
