He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Rice and Louella Giles Isbell; and his brothers, Kenneth Wayne Isbell of Arab and Garland Glenn Isbell of Athens. He is survived by: his wife Kathalene Weaver Solomon (Kathy); his siblings, James Nolan (Peggy Martin Isbell) of Arab, AL and Dorothy Isbell Reid of Arab, AL; his stepchildren, Barry A. Solomon of Huntsville, AL and Terri G. Solomon McGhee (Frank McGhee) of Dallas, TX; his stepgrandsons, Alexander F. McGhee (Lacey Williams McGhee) and Brian R. McGhee of Dallas, TX.; and his sons-in-law, Frank McGhee, Ray Hallmark, Chris Isbell, Robert Glenn and Lavelle Smalley.
