He was predeceased by: his wife Freda Pope Maddox; his parents, Altona Maddox and Alma Maddox; and his brothers, Ralph Maddox and Wayne Maddox.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa Maddox and Joe Maddox; his sister Niva Butler Bernice Rogers; and his grandchild Alton Maddox.
