He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hoover and Sally Mitchell Hoover; his stepmother Ester Hoover; and his brothers, Colvin Hoover and Rufus Hoover.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Hoover (Carol Anne), Berry Hoover (Kasha) and Sally Hoover; his siblings, Paul Hoover, Victor Hoover, Faye Hoover and Ethel Dyess; and his niece Barbara Petty.
